How To Make A BitCoin Payment Using An Online Wallet Service

04:05
http://www.howtovanish.com How to make a BitCoin payment using an online wallet service like MyBitcoin.com (failed), Instawallet.org or our current favorite Blockchain.info. BitCoin is one of the best way to make payments online. Plus, there are tremendous amounts of privacy, low fees and no counterparty risk like with a bank. Plus, transactions are cleared extremely quickly. There have been many changes and advancements with Bitcoin since this video. There have also been setbacks like the failure of MyBitcoin (mentioned in the video). For these reasons we put together the Free Bitcoin Guide and keep it up to date with the latest and most useful information for using Bitcoin safely and securely. http://www.freebitcoinguide.com http://www.howtovanish.com/2011/01/the-best-financial-privacy-is-here-probably/ http://www.howtovanish.com/2011/07/is-goldmoney-a-gold-backed-bitcoin/ Another problem is what if you use the Internet from the location of your ghost address. Then any websites you visit, which may know your identity like a banking or credit card site, have a log of your IP address. The solution is to use a VPN. But what if the credit card identity is link to the payment for the VPN? Then the solution is to use an anonymous payment mechanism for the VPN. Therefore, there is good reason to never trust a VPN unless they accept bitcoins for payment. For this reason we recommend Private Internet Access. This lets you search the Internet in greatly increased privacy. http://www.freebitcoinguide.com http://www.howtovanish.com/privateinternetaccess

There are several types of wallets that provide different ways to store and access your digital currency. Wallets can be broken down into three distinct categories – software, hardware, and paper. Software wallets can be a desktop, mobile or online. Desktop: wallets are downloaded and installed on a PC or laptop. They are only accessible from the single computer in which they are downloaded. Desktop wallets offer one of the highest levels of security however if your computer is hacked or gets a virus there is the possibility that you may lose all your funds. Online: wallets run on the cloud and are accessible from any computing device in any location. While they are more convenient to access, online wallets store your private keys online and are controlled by a third party which makes them more vulnerable to hacking attacks and theft. Mobile: wallets run on an app on your phone and are useful because they can be used anywhere including retail stores. Mobile wallets are usually much smaller and simpler than desktop wallets because of the limited space available on a mobile. Hardware: wallets differ from software wallets in that they store a user’s private keys on a hardware device like a USB. Although hardware wallets make transactions online, they are stored offline which delivers increased security. Hardware wallets can be compatible with several web interfaces and can support different currencies; it just depends on which one you decide to use. What’s more, making a transaction is easy. Users simply plug in their device to any internet enabled computer or device, enter a pin, send currency and confirm. Hardware wallets make it possible to easily transact while also keeping your money offline and away from danger. Paper: wallets are easy to use and provide a very high level of security. While the term paper wallet can simply refer to a physical copy or printout of your public and private keys, it can also refer to a piece of software that is used to securely generate a pair of keys which are then printed. Using a paper wallet is relatively straightforward. Transferring Bitcoin or any other currency to your paper wallet is accomplished by the transfer of funds from your software wallet to the public address shown on your paper wallet. Alternatively, if you want to withdraw or spend currency, all you need to do is transfer funds from your paper wallet to your software wallet. This process, often referred to as ‘sweeping,’ can either be done manually by entering your private keys or by scanning the QR code on the paper wallet. They come in different forms, designed for different types of device. You can even use paper storage to avoid having them on a computer at all. Of course, it is very important to secure and back up your bitcoin wallet. Bitcoins are a modern equivalent of cash and, every day, another merchant starts accepting them as payment. We know how they are generated and how a bitcoin transaction works, but how are they stored? We store fiat cash in a physical wallet, and bitcoin works in a similar way, except it's normally digital. Well, to be absolutely accurate, you don't technically store bitcoins anywhere. What you store are the secure digital keys used to access your public bitcoin addresses and sign transactions. This information is stored in a bitcoin wallet. Bitcoin wallets come in a variety of forms. There are five main types of wallet: desktop, mobile, web, paper and hardware. Here’s how they work. Desktop wallets : If you have already installed the original bitcoin client (Bitcoin Core), then you are running a wallet, but may not even know it. In addition to relaying transactions on the network, this software also enables you to create a bitcoin address for sending and receiving the virtual currency, and to store the private key for it. Mobile wallets: Desktop-based wallets are all very well, but they aren't very useful if you are out on the street, trying to pay for something in a physical store. This is where a mobile wallet comes in handy. Running as an app on your smartphone, the wallet can store the private keys for your bitcoin addresses, and enable you to pay for things directly with your phone. Online wallets: Web-based wallets store your private keys online, on a computer controlled by someone else and connected to the Internet. Several such online services are available, and some of them link to mobile and desktop wallets, replicating your addresses between different devices that you own. Hardware wallets: Hardware wallets are currently very limited in number. These are dedicated devices that can hold private keys electronically and facilitate payments. Paper wallets: One of the most popular and cheapest options for keeping your bitcoins safe is something called a paper wallet. There are several sites offering paper bitcoin wallet services. They will generate a bitcoin address for you and create an image containing two QR codes: one is the public address that you can use to receive bitcoins; the other is the private key, which you can use to spend bitcoins stored at that address. How to Download & Cryptographically Verify the Exodus Bitcoin Wallet

12:33
The Crypto Dad Downloads and Cryptographically verifies the Exodus Bitcoin Wallet installer. He also discusses public/private key cryptography and how the verification process works. The Exodus Bitcoin Wallet can be found at: https://www.exodus.io/ The cryptographic tools can be found at: GnuPG Privacy Guard https://gnupg.org/ Gpg4Win (The Windows version of GnuPG) https://www.gpg4win.org/ We verify our Sha256 with: MD5 & SHA Checksum Utility https://raylin.wordpress.com/downloads/md5-sha-1-checksum-utility/ What is the Exodus Wallet? The Exodus multi-currency wallet is software that runs on your computer. It is an application that allows you to send, receive and store bitcoins, ether tokens, and many other crypto-currencies. It also has advanced features that allow you to check your current balance, see a list of transactions, and even maintain several “wallets”. It does this by allowing you to access a bitcoin address on the Bitcoin blockchain. Access to a Bitcoin address is provided by a cryptographic key-pair. The key-pair is a public/private asymmetric cryptographic key. The public key is the receiving address. This is the address you can share with others, so they can send you bitcoins. The private key is the part that allows you to send bitcoins. The Exodus Wallet software creates a new key-pair whenever you create a new wallet. It stores the private key on your computer. The private key is protected by on-disk encryption. Exodus will automatically decrypt the private key when you wish to send bitcoins. Access to the private key is also enhanced by a password or your own choosing that you can set when the wallet is created. Best practice is to choose a strong password for your Exodus Wallet. What is Bitcoin? Bitcoin is a new technology that functions as a digital currency. It is a peer-based, decentralized way to hold, store, send, and receive value. It does this by maintaining a cryptographic “ledger” called the Blockchain. All of the bitcoins in existence are created and stored on the Blockchain. Bitcoin with a capital “B” refers to the technology itself. Bitcoin spelled with a little “b” refers to the tokens that hold the value and can be exchanged with others. Multiple copies of the Blockchain exist on thousands if not millions of computers worldwide. Each copy of the Blockchain “verifies” itself by connecting to the Internet and making sure it has the most up-to-date list of transactions. The Blockchain maintains its integrity by using strong, modern, encryption techniques. This makes it impossible for anyone to alter the ledger, create fake transaction or “double-spend” their bitcoins. Bitcoins do not require banks or third-party financial services to act as central clearing houses for electronic transfers. In essence, Bitcoin technology “cuts out the middleman”. Bitcoin is a decentralized, peer-to-peer monetary system that exists outside of the traditional, centralized, fiat-currency based financial system.

How to Create a Free Online Bitcoin Wallet

05:57
Check out my facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/pages/All-How-2s/198429346974010 or my twitter: https://twitter.com/AllHow2s Or my website where I have a lot of other great tutorials (such as how to take a screenshot, or how to get the start button back on Windows 8): www.allhow2s.com This video will show you how to create a free online bitcoin wallet, where you can send, receive and store bitcoins in. AN IMPORTANT NOTE: Treat this the same as a bank account, but even then much more securely than that. If a hacker gained access to your account, or you gave out your password, your bitcoins could be stolen, and there is ABSOLUTELY nothing you can do in that event. There are no charge backs, and no one will reimburse you. Authorities would not even be able to track down the person who stole them. So be careful! With that said, these bitcoin wallets are very secure, and can be accessed from your internet browser, or from an app on your phone (blockchain app). The site uses a very cool authentication system that means that even they don't have access to your bitcoins, only the person with the password does. Just please read up on the security information of the wallet before you store a large amount of bitcoins there, as I don't take any responsibility for any coins you might lose. I have used this wallet for a while with no issues. The site to go to is blockchain.info. Then click the wallet option at the top right. Then, choose the create wallet option at the top left. Here you can enter an email if you choose (I would recommend entering one, but if you want to remain completely anonymous then you can). Then, enter a password that is at least 10 characters long, has an uppercase letter, and a number. After this, hit continue. It should then pop up with a page with a pneumonic device that can be used for password recovery. WRITE THIS DOWN OR PRINT IT OUT! It is your only option in the case of a lost/forgotten password. After this hit continue, and then just type in your password to log into your wallet. Here you can do all the things you would do with any other bitcoin wallet, such as receive and send coins. You can also set up two factor authentication in the settings here, so that it requires a second password for more protection. Your bitcoin address that you can receive bitcoins on will be on the front page of your wallet in the form of a long string of letters and numbers, as well as a QR code (that can be scanned by a phone). This is the address you can paste into a site such as http://www.bitvisitor.com/?ref=1H4v3X6Yf4SjUndU4r18ybvzzFfdwfoVk8 which will then send you bitcoins. This is also the bitcoin address you would input to a mining pool to receive the bitcoins you have mined. You can also send bitcoins from this wallet. All you have to do is copy and paste the address you want to send bitcoins to in the send address box. (For instance my address is 1H4v3X6Yf4SjUndU4r18ybvzzFfdwfoVk8 so you could copy and paste that in to send me bitcoins. Keep in mind that there is a "Miner's fee" for sending bitcoins. This fee supports the bitcoin network and keep it operating well. Currently the fee is .0001 bitcoins (about 10 cents) per transaction. If you have any issues just leave a comment below and I will get back to you!

Backing up Your bitcoins using the Electrum Bitcoin Wallet

18:47
The Crypto Dad shows you how to back up the Electrum Bitcoin wallet. I go through making sure your password is stored in a safe place. Then I talk about printing out the seed and keeping it safe. Then I discuss how to export your private keys. Finally, I show you how to make a copy of your wallet and re-open it. Electrum bitcoin wallet: https://electrum.org/#home iPhone Screen share was done using X-Mirage http://www.x-mirage.com/ Passwords were stored in the One Password App https://1password.com/ Donate Bitcoin: 1JBxwXG8P6PYKKsrHKzQduM8s8RoV3dnjr What is the Electrum Bitcoin Wallet? The Electrum Bitcoin wallet is software that runs on your computer. It is an application that allows you to send, receive and store bitcoins. It also has advanced features that allow you to check your current balance, see a list of transactions, and even maintain several “wallets”. Access to the private key is also enhanced by a password or your own choosing that you can set when the wallet is created. Best practice is to choose a strong password for your Electrum Bitcoin Wallet. The Electrum Bitcoin Wallet is one of the most popular Bitcoin wallets for desktops. It has several advanced features that make it robust and flexible. It supports Two Factor Authentication, Multi-sig Wallets, and Cold Storage. Another unique feature of the Electrum Bitcoin Wallet is that it does not require you to download the entire Bitcoin Blockchain on to your computer (which can be time-consuming and requires a lot of space). It does this by maintaining several Blockchain servers which allow you to quickly access the current state of the Bitcoin Blockchain and the up-to-date status of the wallets you control. This includes your current balances and the transaction history for each of your wallets. What is Bitcoin? Bitcoin is a new technology that functions as a digital currency. It is a peer-based, decentralized way to hold, store, send, and receive value. It does this by maintaining a cryptographic “ledger” called the Blockchain. Bitcoin is a decentralized, peer-to-peer monetary system that exists outside of the traditional, centralized, fiat-currency based financial system. Is Bitcoin money? Good question! The short answer is yes! But the long answer requires that we talk a little about what “money” is or what it should be. Money is basically an idea. It is a system that we can all agree upon which allows us to exchange value, so we do not have to carry around cows or chickens with us to trade for the things we need. An ideal money or “currency” should have the following properties: Portable Fungible (interchangeability) Dividable Durable Cognizable (easily identified) Stable Does Bitcoin fit the bill? Well it’s certainly portable. It is all digital. It weighs nothing (unlike gold which can be heavy and bulky in large amounts. For that matter, traditional paper currencies can also become heavy and bulky in large amounts!). It can be sent across the room or around the world with the same ease and comfort. You can carry it on a piece of paper, a laptop, or even your smart phone. It is Fungible. Every bitcoin is like every other bitcoin (unlike shells, beads, and traditional precious metal coins which can be “shaved” or diluted in purity) It is dividable. It is actually one of the most dividable currencies ever conceived! It is possible to spend small fractions of bitcoins and no need exists to make change. When was the last time you were able to spend 1/8 of a penny? Bitcoin is durable. It is protected by strong encryption and the Blockchain exists in thousands if not millions of locations simultaneously. You would literally have to delete the blockchain from every computer and smart phone in the world to destroy a bitcoin. Bitcoin is cognizable or easily recognized. It’s based on math. No one can dispute a number or deny that 1 + 1 =2. People are just beginning to understand what Bitcoin is. There is a bit of a learning curve. But once you are familiar with it, you will know it when you see it. Is Bitcoin stable? Well the current value of a bitcoin has been quite volatile lately in relation to other traditional currencies. But the Bitcoin plan calls for the creation of only 21 million bitcoins. In this way, Bitcoin will try to avoid the pitfalls of modern fiat currencies such as inflation, deflation, market manipulation, monetary policy, quantitative easing, and other central manipulations that effect the day-to-day value of the money we use.

How To Send Bitcoin Wallet to Wallet Transfer

11:39
Spoiler alert: sending Bitcoin to someone else's wallet is more expensive than sending Litecoin, and it takes much longer, too. In this tutorial, I will compare sending them side-by-side. First, I send $100 of BTC from Coinbase, and then I sell $100 of BTC to buy LTC, and send that. (It's much faster.) But is it less expensive to send LTC instead of BTC? Because of Coinbase transfer fees, it's pretty tight. Watch the video to see which one is less expensive.
